Several quayside container cranes at Xiamen Haitong Terminal have pitch wire ropes with long service cycles. Visual inspection and simple tools alone cannot accurately determine the deterioration condition of the wire ropes, especially internal damage and broken wires.

At the client's invitation, our technical personnel carried professional non-destructive wire rope testing instruments to conduct NDT inspections on the pitch wire ropes of multiple cranes with extended service cycles at the terminal. The testing instrument can quantitatively and positionally detect various types of damage caused by strength loss, such as broken wires, wear, corrosion, and fatigue. Based on the inspection results, it automatically generates inspection reports, providing the client with an important basis for wire rope replacement decisions.
