其内部采用定轴齿轮二级传动，属于老产品，但用途最广泛，与减速机相比较，具有占地小、重量轻、外观整齐、效率高，在粉尘大、潮湿漏水泥泞的恶劣条件下仍能正常工作等优点。
随着电动滚筒的不断革新与技术进步，根据需要也可以制造成三级减速(0.08-0.63米/秒之间的低带速)，以满足用户之需要。
